Annette Winkler was born in West-Berlin, Germany. Both of her parents had a passion for painting and she showed an early interest in arts. After finishing school Annette became a nurse and worked her way up into intensive care. She was responsible for ensuring that critically ill patients and their families received optimal care.
After Annette met her future husband, she moved to Darmstadt where she found an interesting new job at a software company. Starting in sales she moved soon into creating promotional materials using graphic design software. The flexible time schedule made it possible to work while raising her two children.
When it was time for the children to start school the family decided to move to Vero Beach, Florida.
She fully devoted her life to her two small children, learning a new way of Life and a new language. At night she found time to learn video editing and made many customers very happy with her beautiful created videos from weddings to travel. Her background in video-editing and photography often helped with composition and adding unique perspectives to her subjects.
Now, as a full time artist she is excited to help various charities in another way – with the help of colors. She has donated a number of artworks to give back to society in her own way. She also donates a portion of the proceeds from each art piece sold.
Many of her art pieces are on display in different locations in the United States of America and Germany.
She received several awards in only couple of month.
It is the amazing variety of different styles, approaches and ideas that find their way into her work. Lately there were some additions of 3-D pieces that took advantage of modeling paste to put some structure onto the canvas. Annette’s pieces cover very different subjects and range from tranquil scenes of still life to bold and colorful canvases in sometimes large sizes.

International Seascape Certification
In January 2014, Annette Winkler was painting with Joyce Ortner to earn her International Seascape Certification.
If Joyce Ortner is not teaching classes and workshops, she is busy with her successful decorative arts business, Artistic Atmospheres. Her business clients both national and international include Warner Brothers Studios, Princess Cruise Line’s corporate offices, and the flagship of the Shangri-la hotel chain, The Far Eastern Plaza in Taipei, Taiwan. Joyce Ortner’s company Artistic Atmospheres was commissioned by Scott Johnson, of Johnson, Fain and Perrara, (Architects of the TransAmerica building in San Francisco), to create works in their firm offices in Beverly Hills and the private residence of Scott Johnson, which was featured in both Architectural Digest and on the HGTV program Extreme Homes. Her paintings have been sought out by both private and corporate collectors, such as the Northrup Corporation and Chanco as well as having works in the permanent collection of the Smithsonian Institute in Washington D.C.
Joyce Ortner’s son, Ran Ortner, the famous New York seascape artist, was invited to talk to this certification Class the last 3 days of the Program.
“Being a part of this lecture was a privilege. I’ve never experienced anything like it. I was entertained, educated, moved, challenged, humbled and most of all inspired!” Annette Winkler

Pocket Guide to the Sanibel & Captiva Islands
Sanibel Island is famous as one of the world’s best shelling grounds, a function of the unusual east–west orientation of the island’s south end. Captiva Island, connected to the northern end of Sanibel by a bridge, is quirky and engaging. At the end of a twisty road lined with million-dollar mansions lies a delightful village of shops, eateries, and beaches.
Annette Winkler was chosen to be the cover Artist for the Pocket Guide to the Sanibel & Captiva Islands. It contains lots of great information about this area, coupons and maps.
Next time you go to the beautiful Florida West Coast you will find this booklet at many different locations for example Hotel- and Motel Lobbies, Gift Shops and the Tourist Information Offices.
